Inquire about the availability of documents in alternate formats.

Certain properties, or portions of properties, are exempt from taxation under the California Constitution. The most common types are homeowner, welfare, charitable, and institutional exemptions. For more information read the Assessor's exemption explanation.

(This form is not available online. It is automatically mailed to taxpayers upon recording a deed with the Office of the Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk. If you do not automatically receive a Homeowners' Exemption Application 6 to 8 weeks after the recording of a deed, please call (916) 875-0710 to request the form.)
