Our responsibility: The Assessor is elected by the people of Sacramento County, and is responsible for locating taxable property in the County, assessing the value, identifying the owner, and publishing annual and supplemental assessment rolls.

Our mission: Our mission is to create equitable, timely, and accurate property tax assessments to fund public services. We strive to be a source of accurate and timely property information for local government and the community.

Assessor Offers No Fee Services: Many Sacramento County taxpayers have become concerned over the solicitations they are receiving in regards to their property tax assessments and exemptions. Assessor Ken Stieger wishes to alert the public that the Assessor's office provides most services without a fee. Please contact the Assessor’s office to take advantage of the Assessor’s office services.
